You may have noticed a new channel on our homepage: Coronaviruses: past, present and future

We created this space with the aim of sharing research and insights into the coronavirus family of viruses, including contributions on SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19, and reflections on previous outbreaks such as SARS and MERS.

This was back in January, when the outbreak was just beginning in China and long before a global pandemic was declared. At the time and for a while after, the channel consisted of only a couple of Behind the Papers and a Q&A with Prof Steven Riley from Imperial College by John Tregoning (super interesting to read again given the enormity of the current situation).

Now, there’s five times as many posts, mostly published in the few weeks as the world transitioned into a new way of living and working.

Some highlights so far include: advice on home working from Communications Biology editor Faten Taki; a weekly review of the latest coronavirus literature by our very own Ben Johnson; and a Q&A with Dr Matshido Moeti, WHO Regional Director for Africa, from Nature Human Behaviour editor Charlotte Payne.
